Opportunities for young people
National Youth Disability Summit 2022
Join us for the second National Youth Disability Summit taking place in an online format across three days on Tuesday 5, Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 July 2022!
The Summit has been designed by a Co-Design Committee of 10 young people with disability. It will cover three key topics of Education, Advocacy and Medical Systems, Diagnosis and Emotional Fatigue of Disability. This year’s Summit will take place during NAIDOC Week and have a strong focus on intersectionality throughout the three days, including hearing from disabled First Nations speakers and NAIDOC-themed sessions on the theme of ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’
Participation is free for all young people with disability (diagnosed and not diagnosed) aged between 12 - 30 years.
Opportunities for everyone
Paid photo opportunities
CYDA are seeking original artwork and candid photos of children and young people with disability to use in our publications. Our current imagery is limited and often unrepresentative of Australia and our community.
We want to showcase real people with disability enjoying themselves with friends and families or enjoying individual activities in their every-day settings like home and school, or out and about.
We want to be truly representative by including a range of:
- physical and intellectual disability types – visible and not visible
- functional supports, mobility and communication aids used
- age groups
- ethnic, cultural and religious differences and identities, and
- family structures.
