    All about Australia's Constitution – A great resource providing links and information about Australia's Constitution. 

    Australian Education Act 2013 – The legislation underpinning reforms to the education funding model. Its objectives are for Australian schooling to provide an excellent education for students, for Australian schooling to be highly equitable, and for Australia to be ranked as one of the top five performing countries in education by 2025.

    Australian Human Rights Commission – A government body overseeing the application of federal legislation in the areas of human rights, anti-discrimination, social justice and privacy. The Commission’s website also provides links and information on relevant disability and human rights conventions and standards.

    Disability Discrimination Act 1992 – This legislation provides protection for everyone in Australia against discrimination based on disability. Disability discrimination happens when people with disability are treated less fairly than people without disability.

    Disability Standards for Education 2005 – These national standards set out the obligations of education and training providers, and seek to ensure that students with disability can access and participate in education on the same basis as other students.

    National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 – This Act creates the framework for the NDIS, including access criteria, age requirements, how a person with disability works with the National Disability Insurance Agency to draw up a plan to help meet their goals and aspirations, and what constitutes reasonable and necessary support.

    United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2006 – An international human rights treaty intended to protect the rights and dignity of people with disability.

    United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989 – An international human rights treaty that sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children.
