Disability Representative Organisations, Children and Young People with Disability, Disability Advocacy Network Australia, First Peoples Disability Network, Inclusion Australia, National Ethnic Disability Alliance, People with Disability Australia, and Women with Disability Australia comment on the Employment White Paper Terms of Reference, following the Prime Minister’s Jobs and Skills Summit held in September 2022.

People with disability are more likely to be underemployed, or unemployed in Australia. Figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics Survey of Disability, Ageing and Carers 2018 reveal that working aged people with disability (15 to 64) are more likely to be unemployed than people without disability.

The unemployment rate of working-age people with disability is twice that of those without disability.

The unemployment rate has remained unchanged for years.
