Children and young people with disability face many barriers to getting the support they need to be included and reach their full potential.
In CYDA’s Pre-budget submission for 2025-26, we call for the Australian government to invest in:
- Truly inclusive education
- A fair, safe, and accessible NDIS system and Foundational Supports
- Addressing issues in unemployment and underemployment of disabled young people
- Individual advocacy for disabled children and young people
Increased short and long-term investment is vital to creating sustainable futures for our community in Australia.
The Government has a mandate to deliver supports under Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-31, the recommendations of the NDIS Review and Disability Royal Commission, and its international commitments to the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child and Persons with Disabilities.
