Government must provide a full and effective system of support for all children and young people with disability before removing or excluding them from the NDIS.

In our submission, we outline six key recommendations alongside an innovative Grassroots Connection Model to help connect our community to Foundational Supports when and where they need them most.

Through a survey and consultation with children, young people and parents or caregivers, we’ve heard powerful messages – and we’re delivering them directly to government.

We urge governments to:

  • Fix systems and respect lived expertise
  • Work with Disability Representative Organisations to create better funding solutions for Foundational Supports
  • Guarantee children with disability remain on the NDIS until early childhood supports are available for all
  • Build on things that are already working
  • Develop a youth practice framework just for young people aged 9 to 25
  • Fund co-designed and intersectional youth programs for young people aged 9 to 25.
