Children and young people with disability make up more than half of the total number of people in Australia who count on the NDIS to live their lives.
Yet despite its central role in providing quality and safe supports, many children, families and caregivers experience gaps in support, leading to integrity risks in the Scheme.
In our submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into NDIS Integrity, we recommended that the government:
- Strengthen continuity of supports safeguards
- Implement a flexible approach to provider registration that preserves choice and control
- Strengthen Scheme integrity through independent oversight, system alignment and genuine co-design with participants
It is also essential that the integrity of the NDIS is consistently prioritised as it undergoes additional reform in the months and years ahead.
