Pig's Big Feelings

By Kelly Bourne

Some macabre humour

For a kids book, I liked it the most, not just because it had good jokes, but because it explains all about how all emotions are natural to feel and to accept them, but also be able to communicate them to others around us.

It has some macabre humour, which I am fine with, but some might not understand it because it relates to the U.S., about calling a football a “pig skin” when they were throwing it around, that being U.S.-centric, so, I think it may be harder to understand for non-U.S. kids.

I really like how it spells out emotions, and how it increases vocabulary with a whole emotion index at the back, describing how it feels in an easy-to-understand way. For example, bored “When I’m bored my head feels empty and I’m out of ideas. I feel bored when I have nothing to do.”
