This cover shows a book cover with eight children playing and dancing. The background is a subdued yellow, and the characters are all wearing colourful clothing. The characters include from top left a child at an easel, a child watching the artist paint, two girls dancing together and then along the bottom of the cover from left to right, a child with a backpack speaking with a girl and then a boy in a wheelchair about to throw a ball to their friend next to them. All of them have big smiles on their faces as if they're having a great time together! Text on the cover includes the title and authors.

A less effective story time

This children’s book, aimed at young families with and without disabilities, describes the life, positives and difficulties of six young children with various disabilities. While this book covered many disabilities and experiences, it felt that there was a large emphasis on a teaching and mentoring focus, which can prove ineffective with young families and can lead to a less effective story time. After every second page, there was a reflective question to ask yourself/the child, which can turn a harmless and fun story into an experience similar to school, which many children will find annoying and confusing, especially for some children with intellectual disabilities, as this can remove the distinction between school and home and make reading a confusing and unengaging time.
