CYDA joins other Disability Representative Organisations and the wider community in calling for clearer, fairer, and more inclusive NDIS rules.
This joint submission, embracing the key principle of “nothing about us without us” is based on lived experience and real-life examples from diverse communities.
It recommends:
- Creating one clear, easy-to-understand list of supports
- Making sure all people with disability are included
- Allowing more time for change
It is time to replace the current ‘yes’ or ‘no’ list of supports with a clear single alternative that includes flexible, accessible, and culturally appropriate supports. The government must also give people more time to understand and help shape changes to the NDIS.
