About this resource

In early 2026, CYDA released Snapshot of Children and Young People with Disability in Australia – a Key Statistics Report.

It brings together the latest available data from a wide range of sources to provide a national overview of the diverse experiences, needs, and circumstances of children and young people with disability in Australia.

As a central resource, the report aims to improve data visibility, understanding and accessibility, as well as point out the areas for which data is currently missing.

It covers 10 key topics: demographics, early childhood, education, employment, health and wellbeing, housing and transport, income and finance, NDIS supports, safety and justice, and social and community understanding.
